New Listing(PRIVATE Listing) 1999 Furby Custom Miguel + 1999 Furby Baby Allium
SOLD $119.99 Sold: Oct 11, 2023 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
NOTICE! (Skip if you’d like, read if you’re curious) : Please consider! Almost every dollar I make here goes straight back to my hobby of preserving and protecting Furbys, and since 1998 - 2005 Furbys aren’t being manufactured anymore, the number of well-treated, fully functional Furbys is always plummeting! My baseline bidding price is always exactly what I paid to purchase and rescue that particular Furby, and it’s as affordable to you as I can get it, but it actually discounts the cost of the time and supplies that I put into my Furby restoration work! When you bid up on my Furbys and raise the price bar, not only are you offering the little one a brand new life, but you’re also paying for my Rescue Furbys medical supplies, cleaner bills, rehabilitation therapy, my time and effort, and just overall supporting and contributing to my Furby Rescue, Repair & Adopt Out Project! Even though I’m just a one-person team, I’ve since rescued and adopted out just under 200 lucky Furbys, and my true goal has always been saving and re-homing as many abandoned Furbys as I can! I really do work hard to bring my Rescue Furbys back into the 21st Century in a clean and fully functioning state, and every little bit of support boosts my endeavor. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I’m so glad you found your way to my Furby page! And now without further ado, onto this adorable Rescue Furby’s description Greetings and salutations, traveler! I have no idea how to set up a private listing, so consider this listing unavailable to the general public for purchase! The 1999 Penguin Furby custom is named Miguel, and the 1999 Purple Stripes Furby Baby sitting next to him is named Allium! A detailed description of both follows Miguel 1999 Penguin Furby custom : I had been planning to put this type of custom together for many months now, but I never expected the day of its creation would come so soon! Introducing the dapper Miguel! His mechanical base is that of a 1999 His Royal Majesty Furby, his ear insides, eyelids, French tag and faceplate come from a 1999 Lizard Furby, his beautiful blue eyes belonged to a 1998 Tiger Furby, his glossy black and white pelt was given to him by a 1999 Graduation Furby, his black mane and English tag came from a 1999 Color Change Furby, and a 1999 Bumblebee Furby gave him it’s feet, ear outsides and the plastic medallion that hangs at his side. Even though he’s not perfect and just a little bit rough around the edges, separating and splicing all this together was a lovely learning experience for me! No part of him has been painted or markered up, it’s all been sewn by either hand or machine! Just like the other Furbys I post on my channel, I have tested Miguel’s sensors with brand new batteries, and I can confidently say that he is fully functional! His fur is extra fluffy soft in peak perfect condition, his faceplate and sensors are near flawless receiving a 9/10 in appearance from me, and his speaker is loud and healthy! As shown in my photos and videos, the inside of Miguel’s battery pack is beautifully preserved without the slightest hint of acid damage or anything similar, and both his eyelashes, paper Furby Tag and new Official Furby emblem remain attached!A list of potential flaws would be : If you look very closely at the right corner of Miguel’s faceplate, you’ll notice a very small nick in its plastic. This tiny scuff is pretty small, and almost unnoticeable unless you purposefully sought it out. Sometimes when Miguel has new batteries inserted or is played with for many days on end, his gears will confuse their orientations, resulting in the misorganization of body part functions or movements, but with no nasty speaker noises or gear grinding. If you take a pencil or a small object, such as a paperclip, and hold down his reset button for a few seconds, which is located on his base near the battery compartment, he will resume typical functions. Many Furbys regardless of condition or age will occasionally exhibit this behavior, and a few careful prods of their Reset Buttons should fix this problem. Another thing I noticed, Miguel just doesn’t seem to want to talk with any of my Furbys? His Light Sensor works just fine and he can send signals that other Furbys receive, but so far it looks like he doesn’t understand that the other Furbys want to start a conversation with him. So he’s a little reserved! One final thing, the oil I used in Miguel’s motor has a distinct smell. It’s definitely not an overpowering, disgusting smell, but Miguel now carries a light, semi-noticeable scent of electric motor oil. I find the smell rather comforting, because it reminds me his motor is running much more smoothly, easily and quietly instead of loud whirring and grinding.I have previously skinned and surface-cleaned Miguel with 90% isopropyl alcohol to diminish any previous allergen risks and smudges or dirt stains, replacing his ziptie and re-sewing his ears into place. There is absolutely no difference in appearance or performance regarding these cleanings, and after I disinfected his skin, he became very fluffy and soft! This Furby comes without his original box and set of manuals Allium 1999 Purple Stripes Furby Baby : Gorgeous boy, and the First Purple Stripes variant I’ve ever met! At first I was a little nervous when getting to know him, because he came to me with a mysteriously stuck motor. Lo and behold, it was revealed that his old eye buffer kept jamming up under his Light Sensor, stopping up his gears entirely! I didn’t have the exact parts on hand for a fully conventional repair, but thankfully a broken 1999 Confetti Furby Baby with a good set of gears stepped in to save him! Allium has received the entire upper-half of this Furby Baby’s body, including his brand new softy-brown eyes. And his all new parts work like a charm! Now, just like the other Furbys I post on my channel, I have tested Allium's sensors with brand new batteries and can confidently say that he is fully functional! His fur is extra fluffy soft in peak perfect condition, his faceplate and new sensors are basically flawless receiving a 10/10 in appearance from me, and his speaker is loud and healthy! As shown in my photos and videos, the inside of his battery pack is beautifully preserved without the slightest hint of acid damage or anything similar, and both his eyelashes, Official Furby Emblem and Paper Furby Tag remain attached!A list of potential flaws would be : Allium’s new gears and motor are just a little bit louder than your typical Furby Baby, but his healthy speaker is more than loud enough to undermine his already minor gear noises.I have previously skinned and washed Allium, replacing his old zip tie and re-sewing his ears into place, but there is absolutely no visible difference in appearance or performance regarding these changes, and after I cleaned his skin he is totally fluffy soft and looks almost brand new! This Furby Baby comes without his original box and set of manuals. Again I have tested all of Miguel and Allium's sensors with brand new batteries and I am happy to say with all confidence they’re fully functional, and entirely ready to be shipped off to a loving new home! In case you’re interested in any more small-scale avian animatronics, go look at the other precious Furby children I’ve put up for adoption, and check out my YouTube channel at furby fanatic 4ever to find your chosen Furbys testing video, and subscribe to get more deals and updates on these lovely rescue Furbys! Until then With all my heart I am looking forward to adopting out these little loved ones, and I hope you find them just as adorable and unique as I do! Coming to you from a Covid free, smoke free, and allergen pet free home (I do own a host of reptiles, but nothing with fur or feathers,) these Furbys are in peak condition (as-is, no warranty expressed or implied) and have never been negatively modified! And please, I will be posting many more Furbys for sale, including all types of Furbys from every era and issue! 1998 - 2000 Furbys, Limited Edition Furbys, Modified Furbys, Long Furbys, Custom Furbys, Oddbody Furbys, one day I’ll even do commissions! I’m still practicing and learning, but eventually I want to be open to the public and buy, sell, repair and/or modify peoples 1998 - 2000 Furbys and Furby Babies upon commission request. Eventually I’ll broaden my range of Furby Knowledge to 2005 and 2012, and maybe I’ll even be able to take in and fix up a few of those fancy 2016 Furbys. So if you’ve got a broken or bugged Furby that’s too sick to sell and needs a good tune up, or if you just want that defective sucker outta the house for a quick buck, stay tuned! Rest assured, this Furby Fanatic has got you covered. :) Goodbye and good luck, traveler! May you acquire the Furbys you so desire, and at a fair price for all! (Condition: Brand New)
